Below is a little something that I wrote for a congregation who’s supported us from the start with prayers and dollars, Golden Valley Lutheran. Perhaps you’ll find it useful in telling others what we’ve been up to lately!

So…you’re wondering about “Vintage Chaos” that ministry to young post-moderns in Minneapolis??? I’m happy to share!

“Vintage Chaos”has been offering public gatherings twice a month [1st & 3rd Sundays at 4:30 pm] since March 2007. [We’re not even sure if “Vintage Chaos” is the final name, but that’s what we’re calling it so far! Visit www.vintagechaos.info and look at the very first entry to understand the meaning of “Vintage Chaos”.] Before that we had met 12 times over the 8 months [May 2006-to February 2007] to bond, discern, and lay the foundation. People from half a dozen different congregations (and some with no church affiliation!) have participated.

For most of the summer we’ve utilized a room at the Dunn Brothers on Loring Park. Attendance has been averaging only 8-10 over the summer due to travel and vacations but each time God surprises us with a reason to keep at it (often in the form of newcomers seeking God in a serious way—that’s really cool discipleship!).

I also want you to know that a guy named Jim who helped develop “Vintage Chaos” has hung up his hat as a regular with us (with tons of blessings) to begin a similar gathering at his own congregation, St. Matthew Lutheran in Columbia Heights. It’s really cool that this little chaotic venture has already doubled its impact—Praise God!

Thanks for your prayers. Contact jacobgillard at gmail.com if you or someone you care about should receive an evite to our next gathering!
