This lot includes: A European style sheet with embroidery on 3 sides, red cross stitch CB initial in front. This huge sheet has two seams & was made from 3 lengths of fabric. There is embroidery & eyelet at the top edge and going around the sides for about 24 , enabling it to be function as a foldover or built-in sham. The cases also have the red initials, plus four tucks, & measure 34 1/2 x 18 . The sheet is crisp, & has a few age spots here & there. Two of the pillowcases also have a nice crisp hand, with a good deal of life left to them. The two others have been washed a few more times, and have a good to fair amount of life left in them. The four cases have spots throughout, please be advised! These are moderately dark, and throughout. They are mostly from age, which I estimate as being late 19th century.
The crochet set ( no initials) has two pillowcases, also with some age staining, measuring 36 x 17 , no holes, however. The sheet, which is 94 x 88 , not including the 4 wide crochet. There are some light spots, a water-type stain about a foot long x 3 wide, the fabric is very crisp, however, I am predicting it will wash up nicely.
A nice lot of sheets & cases, good for decorating a country home this time of year.
